Information Rules the Nation

     When some one mentions a computer do you envision an abacus? An abacus was an analog computer, it was totally self contained and had no peripheral devices just the eyes of the user as well as completely reliant on the user as the human input device. Or when you hear computer do you think of a tablet of cell phone  with its digital technologies that has various peripheral devices with in it and the output screen can also be used as a device input for the human?  Do you know that the modern computer actually was created by Alan Turing ? Alan Turing helped Britain highest and secret authority decrypt the Nazi Enigma machine. In order to be able to decrypt the Enigma Machine a few pieces of information where needed so he could program the machine and then the machine could aggregate a combination that could then make it possible to decrypt the message. 

     The key factor of this information was knowing a few things, the format of the letter. The format always stated the date of the letter and was always signed Heil Hitler. Pattern recognition, availability of resources to build a machine with the ability to decipher encrypted which was intercepted and knowing the enemy along with a large dose of arrogance from the enemy led to its demise. Information is the new gold and for Britain to have the information of its enemy who thought its data was secure through a rolling encryption was the key piece to winning the war. Never mind who funded who or what the purpose of the war was, the key point I want to make is cyberwar fare was first fought in WW2. Things went from analog to digital and it was a paradigm shift for the world. 

     With electricity came inventions for communication. Wire transmissions by the early mid and late 1800s telegraphs fax and telephones became available. Now we use world war 2 radio frequency  technology to communicate some use CDMA others GSM frequencies but we use these radio frequencies to receive and send data. The data could be images emails VOIP or text messages. Although cellphones use radio frequencies for data, the calls are patched through physical landlines. The data although is transmitted through radio waves is also patched through physically tangible networks.
